Politecnico di Torino
Politecnico di Torino (POLITO) is one of the first Italian Engineering Schools. Polito is fully involved in EcoThermo project since its beginning with two departments: Energy for the studies and formalizations of the thermal convey fluid problem; Automatic Controls and Computer Science for the allocation algorithms and the math identification procedures.
Istituto Nazionale di Ricerca Metrologica (INRIM)
INRIM is the Italian National Metrology Institute, thus it is located at the top of Italian metrological traceability chain. This means that INRIM have responsibility to develop and maintain for Italy the standards of the most important physical quantities such as length, weight, strength, flow rate, time. All these quantities are measured at INRIM at the highest possible level of accuracy; this allows to provide highly measurement standards to the national industrial system. This high accuracy is required on a hand for high-technology applications, on the other one because the accuracies inevitably degrade along the pyramidal metrology chain. Then to achieve an adequate precision for the end users it is necessary that the first step ensures the highest accuracies. So high accuracies require to continuously innovate the measuring instruments making use of best available technologies and analyses based on the most adavanced scientific knowledge for which INRIM is an important center of knowledge and expertise. INRIM is also a member of the Metre Convention, to which the measures certified by INRIM are automatically recognized by the Metrological Institutes around the world.
High-tech Enterprises Incubator
I3P, the Innovative Enterprise Incubator of the Politecnico of Torino, is the main university based incubator and one of the best at European level. In 2014, I3P ranked fifth in Europe and fifteenth in the world ranking UBI (University Business Incubator), the Global Benchmark Report annual ranking of the best academic incubators. The ranking, relized by sweden Ubi Index (University Business Incubator) , considered 300 incubators in 67 countries, assessing attractiveness and creation of value for the ecosystem and customers.
I3P’s mission is to promote the creation of new science-based businesses with validated growth potential, either founded by university researchers or entrepreneurs from outside the university sphere. We provide open spaces and professional consulting services to start your own business as well as a network of entrepreneurs, managers and investors .
Founded on 1999, I3P is located in Torino (Italy) and by now has launched 193 start-ups that have been able to exploit the results of research in different fields: from cleantech to medtech, from Information Technology to electronics, mechanical, energy, to other industrial.
